At the newly launched Piton Awards, the Saint Lucia Tourist Board rewarded its top selling agents from Canada and across the United States who have contributed to Saint Lucia’s growing visitor arrivals for the past year. These agents have undertaken a four-step education and training program in order to become a Preferred Agent Saint Lucia Specialist (PASS).
As a form of appreciation of the agents’ accomplishments, the Tourist Board hosted the winning agents and their guests for the annual Piton Award Creole Carnival Gala from June 9th to 13th 2016. They were flown into the island, treated like royalty and given the opportunity to experience the finer things Saint Lucia has to offer; some of which included ziplining through the rainforest, sailing on a catamaran along the scenic west coast, exploring the picturesque town of Soufriere, taste island cuisine and dance the night at the famous Friday Night Street party climaxing with relaxation and rejuvenation at one the best spa.
The highlight of this occasion was the elite Piton Awards night where the agents were celebrated and recognized for their hard work. The overall top selling travel agent for the United States for 2015 was Steve Simmons of Honeymoon Inc. and Nancy Miklian of Travel Sensations for Canada. A well-deserved treat for all the agents and we look forward to next year’s list.
